Kodi:
is a 4 year old Giant Malamute. He weighs 140 pounds, has
been neutered and has all shots. Kodi can be food and toy
aggressive and his owners are about to have their first
child. Though the love Kodi dearly the fear is that the
child will try to take a toy of his and there could be an
issue down the road. He is a great dog, that needs a
great family.

Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Ohio, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c) 3
breed rescue organization that has been operating in Ohio for
the past 16 years. Our organization is dedicated to the
placement of Alaskan Malamute dogs given up by owners, taken
into shelters and found as strays.
Most of the dogs that come into rescue are between the ages
of 1 and 6 years old. Every now and then we will get a dog
that is between 6 months and 1 year. We rarely get puppies.
Most of these dogs were obtained by owners who thought they
were cute, pretty, etc. until they grew up and got bigger than
expected, became more energetic, started to shed and required
a lot more attention. Some just get out due to lack of proper
supervision or are dumped on the roadside, in the park, or in
an empty field and are picked up by the local dog warden.
All dogs taken in by Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Ohio, Inc.
are temperament tested, updated on shots, micro chipped and
spayed/neutered. They are also treated for any other medical
conditions they may have at the time including heartworm
treatment.
Dogs are placed in foster homes to learn the habits of the
dog and to work with them on any behavioral issues. They are
also tested around children, cats, and other dogs to establish
the type of home they will do best in.
If you would like to help Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Ohio,
Inc. by being a foster parent, helping at fund raisers and
events, by donating to our cause, or sponsoring a dog, please
see the appropriate sections for more details. All of our dogs can
be found in our Dogs Available
