Keeza:

Is an 11 year old Alaskan Malamute German Shepherd Mix.  When he came to AMRO, he was relinquished by owners that were moving to warmer climates, and didn't feel able to take him with them.  He bounced around from Kennel to Kennel, and we started to foster him.  We knew that Keeza was an escape artist that needed to sleep with other dogs when the Kennels would have him in his own run at night, and would find him in a run with another dog in the morning.  Well the we found out just how good of an escape artist he was about a week after we started fostering him.  We were headed out to dinner one night, and when we got home, a neighbor had told us that one of our dogs (we have 2 other adopted Mals) had escaped.  Well turns out that it was Keeza.  He had jumped out of our Daughter's 2nd story window, run down the street, and had gone swimming.  He was fine, no broken bones, no injuries, nothing...all this from an 11 year old, 100 lb Malamute Mix.

Well we eventually adopted Keeza.  He has now become a BIG part of our pack, and assists Angie with her Daycare business by being the resident pillow, and all around babysitter to sometimes up to 6 kids.  He CRAVES the attention, and for all of the "special" attention that the kids give him, he is still the most gentle of dogs that the we have ever owned.

Keeza's BIGGEST success, is that he is the official guardian of our 3 year old daughter Ceci.  Ceci was suffering from nightmares and without being asked, Keeza started sleeping in her room at night.  He stayed there sleeping by her bedside until he was sure that she was asleep, and then he would come down to our room during the night.  When Keeza started sleeping in her room at night, her nightmares ceased.  He is the BEST dog ever.

Lisa:

Came to AMRO in November of 2005 when her previous owner dropped her and her 3 siblings off at a local pound.  Over the next year Lisa would live at 6 different kennels, 2 foster homes and have to see endless younger Mals get homes before her.  In all of that Lisa's spirits were always very high and she quickly earned a spot in all of our hearts at rescue.  In November of 2006 Lisa's long wait was finally over and she could not have gone to a better family.  Lisa now has a big yard to run in, enjoys long walks and most important has a big sister to take care of her in Katie.

Fleury (a.k.a. Little Boy) one of our FIRST puppies at AMRO:

Good morning!  I wanted to give an update on the pup we adopted from you (Fleury).  Fleury is doing fantastic and just had his 16 week checkup last week. The vet said he is perfectly healthy.  He was 42 pounds last Friday, and still growing like a weed! He is almost as tall as our Husky. They are getting along great, and they really love their daily walks. Fleury is such a cuddle bug!!! I love it!  He seems content playing with our Husky and the cats. Kiersten & Josh (and Fleury too!)

Nanook:

Here are some pictures of Nanook with his new sister Cheyenne. They are having a wonderful time together, and are learning so much. Nanook has been such a blessing to our family and we are truly grateful for everything you have done for Nanook. We will be sure to keep you posted on how he is doing.  God's speed, Kirby, Beth, Nanook, and Cheyenne
